As a nurse and credentialled diabetes educator, the local Yorta Yorta women has played netball, been a member of the board and a club volunteer where she was able to foster her passion for health.
“I was employed in the role as health promotion co-ordinator and co-ordinator of the health alliance network which actively promoted healthy lifestyle and motivation for netball players and women supporters wanting to enhance and maintain health and well being,” Sharon said.
“From my interest in working towards creating positive health outcomes for my people, l have embarked on a PhD which focus on diabetes education and management in Indigenous communities.”
