Rumba Netball hosts Deni – in review

B Grade

B Grade had a positive start to their game against Deni. A strong defence bringing stability to the game. Some great intercepts forced by good positioning down court is proving that B Grade are switching on strategically. There was some great passing into attack, however it wasn’t enough to come away with the win. Best on went to: Kia Barter and Georgia Terlich. Well done girls…

C Grade

C Grade had great passages of play and worked the ball down the court. We were consistently strong in our defence making Deni work hard for the win. Best on was Susan Beckhurst who is always a reliable feeder into the goalers and lifts court morale. Second best was awarded to Rachael Fleming

C Reserve

C Reserve started the game strong with hard defence and consistency in the attacking end. Ending the first quarter with 1 goal difference. We slipped somewhat in the 2nd quarter, but after half time break came back fighting. Karen Kerr, with a best on court performance, was unrelentless in defence contributing to most of the turnovers. Lucina Winmar who played in goals and WA, fed the ball into the goalers well and converting many goals. The whole team never gave up

U17’s are starting to settle as a team and are improving each week. The girls steadied their play in the 3rd quarter to win that one by 3 points, there was some great defence work by Laura Hudson and Kaiella Morgan-Bulled, and Ella Crumpen-Winmar played an excellent game in Centre to steady the play from defence into the shooters. Great game girls, still some fitness to work on to finish the fourth quarter, but overall a great effort! Best on Ella Crumpen-Winmar and Laura Hudson

U15’s improved towards the end of the game. We won the last quarter, the girls kept fighting and worked really hard. Defence was our strongest point for the game. Best on went to Katarina and Nyalwelo, they worked very well in defence and didn’t give up. Well done girls!

U13’s came up against tough opponents in Deni, with their shooters on fire! Our girls didn’t give up, they kept on trying. Best on went to Lakeea Charles and Second best went to Nariah Joachim who did well for her first game back for the season.

We had some good passages of play, working the ball well from the Centre to the shooters in the ring. We just need to remember to be in front when calling for the ball. Great game girls, best on went to Kelis Saunders and Yilanii Atkinson
