Big Round 1 Win

In a fantastic first up four quarter effort, Rumba 21.15-141 has downed Congupna 11.13-79.

The team did have some lapses at times and Congupna’s was able to capitalise on those lapses of concentration.
Rumba had momentum straight away from the hands of Leon and midfielders Judda, Nath, Nat Rat (Lovett Murray) clearly had first use of the ball.

Damien Cupido was happy with the result: “The team, stuck to the game plan, took risks, ran hard for each other and played selflessness free spirit footy. That’s exactly what I asked for pre game.”

This week is an historic occasion for our club as its the first game under lights at Mercury Drive, so to all of you out there in the RUMBALARA community i urge you to come on down and support us and get on board the “Rumba” TRAIN.

Was a good hit out for the reserves with glimpses of a good side coming together, as older heads lead the way with younger players. Standing up was Josh Patmore, Jake Walkden and Andrew Atkinson all in the best as with Jason Atkinson booting 4 Goals.

Under 17’s

We struggled today but the boys that played gave all there efforts specially the boys that backed up from the under 14’s.

Under 14’s

U14S went in undermanned against Congupna on Saturday Round 1,but the boys really pulled together and put in a team effort to only go down by 1 goal.
I was really proud of the effort and commitment towards the game and it was highlighted by
one of our 10 year old boys Tyrese Kerr kicking a goal and celebrating.
Thank you for the few Congupna boys that filled in for us.
Our best players on the day were: Marcus Kerr, Ramman Winmar, Tyrin Atkinson, Emmanuel Lado, Shaun Roberts and Cody Kerr.
