Round 5 Netball Wrap-Up

A Grade

Even though the win wasn’t ours, the girls should be proud that they maintained a strong attack and continued to work hard in defence. The rain certainly made the game more difficult but A Grade’s performance was steady & positive.

B Grade

B Grade are starting to settle and some good performances, especially from our junior players, are strengthening the team as a whole. Unfortunately we didn’t come away with the win, but the girls demonstrated a strong commitment to finishing out the game.

C Grade

C Grade gave it all they had, and despite the rain making it difficult, there was some great passages of play down the court, however, Tongala were just too strong. Best on to Kathy who shot really well and came out for every centre pass. There was some great defence from Rachael and Sharna. Second best to Krystal.

C Reserve

The girls never gave up and continued to fight, great shooting from Lou and Kathy, and a great game from Karen Kerr. Best on to Danni Armstrong and Second best to Kathy Owen.

U17’s

U17’s are really starting to improve as a team and get to know each other on court, we still have to work on slowing our game down, but was great to see some of the girls really step up and play their position at 100%. Welcome to Maddie Atkinson who played her first game of netball, she did a great job in WA and WD. Best on went to Diarna Kerr for her game in WA, she did some great feeding into the shooters and applied some great defensive work down the court also, turning the ball over a number of times.

U15’s

U15’s are improving each week and are starting to play some really good passages of play with all players getting their hands to a few intercepts on the weekend. Best on went to Sara as she was persistent with her defensive work and went in hard for the rebounds. Second best went to Jaz as she played centre for the first time and did extremely well! Well done girls!

U13’s

Great win by the girls this week, despite the fact that Tongala kept on fighting, it was a great effort from the girls. Best on to Casey for not giving up, fantastic effort, she just kept pushing and giving her all to the point she was going so hard she fell over a seat into a puddle trying to chase the ball! Second best to Tarsie who was on fire with goals and kept on going the entire game, she played excellent in shooter, considering it was a position she didn’t like. Overall, very proud of the entire team, was difficult to best players, the girls must love the rainy weather!

U12’s

Under 12’s played a great game against Tongala and have really shown big improvements in their skills. Playing in the rain was certainly a tough call for the girls but they soldiered on and did the best they could. Best players for the day were Tamieka and Talia Trimboli. Well done girls…you’re awesome…

U11’s

Another good game from our girls. We are still getting a bit crowded in the centre because we all want the ball so much! So proud of the girls all putting in 100% each week. Best on: Doretta Ritchie & Tallara Saunders

Rumba Netball hosts Deni – in review

B Grade

B Grade had a positive start to their game against Deni. A strong defence bringing stability to the game. Some great intercepts forced by good positioning down court is proving that B Grade are switching on strategically. There was some great passing into attack, however it wasn’t enough to come away with the win. Best on went to: Kia Barter and Georgia Terlich. Well done girls…

Deni too accurate for A Grade

Even with the loss, Rumba A Grade didn’t disappoint. Sheer determination from our girls kept Deni from running away with the score. Deni’s accuracy in goals was hard to beat, however, our defenders kept it a tight game. Rumba won the fourth quarter with Alkina Edwards making her A Grade debut in goals. Best on went to Jess Barnes-Hill and Shani Crumpen.

Great win against the Rams

“It was a big game for us as we had to bounce back after we let a huge opportunity slip against Moama. We knew Deniliqun would be a tough opposition and that we would need to be a lot more physical and mentally harder than what we had been I asked for total commitment with mind and body. We started much better had a lot of fwd entries but just weren’t getting rewards for effort which against top sides we will have to.
